Ribbed Chew Sticks, 4 Pack (Pink, Purple, Magenta and Yellow)

A different stick from the rest of the line: no flat faces, no block grid, just rings running the whole length of a round bar. Four of them, in the Standard band.

$11.99$3.00 a piece

The ribbing is the point. A textured face has to be found with the tongue and lined up before it does anything, and a child who chews absently will keep landing on the smooth side. A ring pattern that wraps the whole bar removes the problem, because every way the stick goes in the mouth it reads the same.

Density is Standard, level three of our six. That is the band for a child who chews steadily through the day rather than one who destroys things, and it is softer than the Xtra Tough sticks most people start with. If a piece from the tough end has come back untouched, this is the direction to go.

Four pieces in pink, purple, magenta and yellow, one colour each, so two or three children can have their own without arguing over which is whose. Food grade silicone, free of BPA, PVC, lead, phthalates and latex. Dishwasher or warm soapy water, and we ask for a thorough clean before the first use.

Where it fits

  • Absent-minded chewing where orientation should not matter
  • Several children who each need their own colour
One caveat

This listing is new and carries no ratings at all yet. There is nothing to read, so judge it on the density band and the shape rather than waiting for a score to appear.

Replace it before it breaks

Silicone that has been chewed for months splits along the bite line, and a torn piece can be swallowed. Bend the chew before each use and look at the creases. Throw it out at the first tear rather than at the first hole.

Where this sits in the range

Standard: The middle of the range. Enough resistance to feel like something, not enough to fight back.
